Hi, I’m Madison crawford.

I saw a birth for the first time in 2019 when I watched my friend birth her baby at home. I was amazed at the beauty and simplicity of what birth COULD look like. I felt a profound sense of awe witnessing the natural rhythm and strength of her body as she brought new life into the world, surrounded by love and support.

Whether in the hospital or at home, I want every one of my clients to feel empowered, loved, and cared for throughout their birth process. I want my clients to have the best experience possible with the circumstances they are given. I cannot change outcomes, but having a doula can make all the difference!

I am a DONA trained doula proudly serving the greater Jackson, Mississippi metro area. It brings me great joy to provide support and comfort to women throughout pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period.

When I was pregnant with my first child and started to delve into labor and birth information, I was astonished at all of the things my husband and I needed to learn; especially as we aimed for an unmedicated birth. We took a Bradley Method birth class, read multiple books, and researched what was important to us. Thankfully, we were blessed with a wonderful doula whose guidance and presence were invaluable. She offered unwavering support throughout pregnancy, and promptly arrived at the hospital when needed. She offered emotional, physical, spiritual support, and also advocated for me when necessary. Both my husband and I credit her for empowering us to achieve the natural hospital birth we desired. I will always be thankful for having her there to support not only me, but also my husband, whom she coached and comforted as well.

For my second birth, I knew I wanted to try and have a homebirth. With confidence in my low-risk status and a desire for the comforts of home, we opted for a midwife-assisted birth. Surrounded by my sister, doula, midwife, and her assistant, I had the BEST, most nurturing and supportive birth team I could have ever asked for. At one point I had a person on every side of me - massaging my feet, my hands, and giving me counter pressure. I think that was the most loved I have ever felt!

I am so thankful for having the opportunity to experience both a hospital and homebirth, especially as a doula. Having firsthand experience with both settings, I have valuable insights to support my clients regardless of where they choose to give birth.

The word “doula” comes from the Greek word meaning “women who serve.” That perfectly explains what I desire as a doula. I want to serve women in whatever ways they need to be served during labor. Whether it’s holding their hand, providing counter pressure, or getting them something to drink. Doula’s provide emotional support, physical comfort, informational support, partner support, advocacy, and client confidentiality.

I want to be there for my clients as they are learning more about labor, birth, and everything in between. It is my joy to be able to pray for, and walk alongside every woman that uses my services.
